OLD MILL DISTRICT LIVING
Live in it.
The Old Mill District sits at the center of everything that makes Bend feel like Bend. River access. Live music. Dining. Trails. Shopping. Daily essentials. All connected by walkable streets, riverfront paths and a shared sense of energy.
What’s old is new again.
Once the site of two of the world’s largest sawmills – Shevlin-Hixon on the west bank and Brooks-Scanlon’s Mill A and Mill B on the east – this district has been transformed from its industrious roots into a dynamic, mixed-use destination for Bend, Oregon residents and visitors. Today, the Old Mill District spans approximately 270 acres along the river and is home to more than 11 preserved historic buildings, including the iconic smokestacks and the charming “Little Red Shed,” now an art studio.
The area’s thoughtful restoration of 14,000 feet of riverfront brought back vibrant wildlife habitats and earned it national recognition, including the 2017 Excellence on the Waterfront Award.
One good plan leads to another.
